Musical Bodyshop
A Dancers' Body Awareness Workshop
at Bramshaw with Steve and Debbie
Has
your tango dancing hit the 'doldrums'? Are you are looking for a
powerful learning tool to help you improve your dance? If the answer is
yes, we would like to introduce you to the Tango Bodyshop.
The
workshop takes place at our Tango 'home' in the delightful New Forest
at Bramshaw Village Hall. The day is divided into four modules, with
breaks in between for refreshments and lunch.
Each one hour module is made up of approximately 50 minutes of
classroom work and 10 minutes of video recording. During each class we
work on an element of musical technique which can involve
working as
an
individual as well as with your partner. Steve and Debbie demonstrate
and break down moves into the core technique of axis, balance, movement
and posture.
Every couple gets personal attention from the teachers as the classroom
session progresses.
Towards the end of each of the four modules, when everyone is
demonstrating an understanding of and confidence in the move, the class
performs the move on camera one couple at a time.
In the performance area, Steve uses digital video with theatre lighting
to ensure the dancers are well lit against a white backdrop. During
the break between modules, the video
recording is played back for dancers to assess.
Tango
Bodyshop is a
powerful catalyst for
change,
enabling
you to see your dance for yourself and through the eyes of a teacher.
