I just had an amazingly intense weekend at
the tango tangk.
So many wonderful people and experiences.
Thank you for making it happen.

Many
thanks for the fabulous weekend at the Tango Tank. As a beginner,
I struggle more with my mind than my body, but persevered and
at least got a feel for what Tango is all about. I have been
teaching pushing hands as a zen/chan meditation for many years
and cannot believe how similar these paractise are in principle.
I am hooked....Very excited about starting in Bournemouth and
Wed in S/ton. What a great crowd of warm friendly and helpful
people and a great atmosphere.
Thanks for all your hard work |
First
of all let us congratulate and thank you for the most wonderful
weekend's tango experience that we have ever had! It was
like being on holiday; so relaxing and fun but with loads of
tips and help for us to get our tango teeth into.
Who
needs Barcelona when you've got the Tangk just 20 minutes down
the road?

| I just wanted to say thank you
for putting together such an unforgettable event. I've been on
a big, big high since coming home, despite having no opportunities
to dance since leaving Bramshaw. The whole weekend was exceptional,
but the milongas on Friday and Saturday evening were very special
- particularly Friday. This was one of those "mountain top"
experiences that I'll remember and which will keep me going when
I'm crawling along in the tango desert! |
|
Just wanted to drop you a
line to say how much I enjoyed my two days with you a the Tangk
on Friday and Saturday. Excellent teachers, super venue, great
music and the bonus of the live music to top it all off.
Plus of course.... the joy of meeting and dancing with so many
lovely tango dancers.
Thank you for all your hard
work putting this rich mix together.
Very much hoping to be able
to join you again at a future Tangk event

I
so enjoyed the weekend tango dance and with feet dropping and
weary wove my way home in the early hours of Monday morning.
But what a great weekend. Such gentle and enthusiastic hosting
by you both. Thank you very much. |
Thank you, thank you, thank
you for another brilliant week-end of fun, music, high energy,
great people and not forgetting the tango.
We have hit Monday morning
running and so we will just send you both a big tango hug and
the best of luck with the moving.
We look forward to the next
time we meet.

At every level, in all departments, the Tangk was
so much more fun and more instructive than I had expected or
hoped.
I feared that my mind would be snowed with new information whilst
my muscles would not have the opportunity to "fix"
what I had learned. Quite the opposite, the experience had time
to let the muscles learn and left the brain relaxed, at least
much more relaxed than on a Tuesday evening.
I feared that a closed community of Tangeuros might be like living
in a submarine. Instead I found that they were all lovely people.
It seemed that everyone was there to help all the others enjoy
themselves. I don't think I've been part of such a gathering
before.
The most valuable thing I learned was to be sensitive to the
style of the follower. Now I just need to be able to match those
styles.
Even as I write, am still smiling to remember the riot. (Tango
/Drama Fusion class - Ed) Honestly now, weren't you just
a little bit worried? Perhaps you did not realise how vivid it
was to those taking part. One person apologised to me afterwards
because he felt that it had got a little too real.
How on earth can Tangk Two be as good? |
thank you both
so much for a great weekend! i enjoyed it veeeeery
much!
you always make it look so easy to organise, and yet
i know it involves a lot of work! i
am again very impressed at the quality of the dancing..... and
of the teaching.....and of the food !! ......and the
wonderful ambience you have created. ....and it shows the
love and care that you both put into it. |

In the kitchen on Sunday morning, those pottering
started an informal list of things that go with Tango.
The list began innocently enough with tea
and massage and moved on to nice (but sometimes a little strange)
people, to deeper waters when ladies noted that they always felt
safe at Tango, that people went to Tango without ulterior motive.
You're never stuck an a rut at a Tangk.
At Tangk number one I discovered the benefits
of dancing with strangers and of the
workshops. At number two I found humour where I had not suspected
it. An experienced lady from Archers Road, leading me in one
of the workshops, suddenly lead me into a huge side step. In
her smile that followed were "How about that then?"
and " So you were awake then." and "Don't be so
conservative next time you lead me." and maybe other messages
I'll never know.
It was the very best of fun.

I wanted to thank you again for
such a wonderful week-end and despite my poor feet whinging at
me it was worth every ouch I muttered under my breath!!
Sorry I dashed off last night but I was exhausted and I had stuff
to sort out at home before this morning.
Anyway what a fabulous way to
spend a weekend and I can't thank you guys enough for opening
many doors for me!

The feet may be sore and the
bodies a bit stiff but the souls and spirits are flying...!
Tango Tangk 2 was EVEN BETTER
than Tangk 1. (I didn't think that was possible!)
Perfect weather, good food, (especially cake!), wonderful dances,
amazing fun and some fantastic "connections" with friends
old and new.
Thank you so much for a weekend
that was a taste of Tango Heaven.
|
Thank you for putting such an
amazing event together.
Your organization was just perfect
and the workshops most interesting.
Debbie, I know all the detail and care you put in all areas and
it really showed. You are a star!
I loved all workshops but particularly
Steve's! Can we have more please???

Thangks...for
another wonderful event. It really feels like a well-embedded
pattern already. Lots of things were great about the weekend
but for me the highlights happened to be in 2 of the milongas
this time. On Friday night "Cry Me a River"
was a pinnacle. On Sunday night we were only there from
10.30-12.00 the way things worked out. But it felt like
the best 90 minute stretch of Tango that I have ever
experienced. A concentrated splurge of immensely pleasureable
dancing.
It is all down to your vision, creativity, hospitality and
downright hard work. Thank you. |
| I
loved the way things seem to move smoothly from one activity
to another and I while I know lots of people contributed, it
felt that it was you and Debbie's preparation and just being
there taking care of what was happening that made the event such
a wonderful weekend. |
THANK YOU so much for the
wonderful weekend - for your generosity, for giving me the opportunity
to teach what I most love, and for the wonderful
atmosphere you created.
I feel priviledged to have
been a part of it and came away with much more than what I gave.
You are creating something
very special.

Dear Steve & Debbie.
Just a quick note to say thanks for a great
weekend. I have never seen so many super teachers under one roof.
It was really wonderful & hopefully a
little improvement in our Tango!!
|
Thank you Debbie
for everything that you and Steve did to make the Tangk possible.
It was really marvellous...
Why? Because I think you and Steve facilitate really skillfully
and let others "take the space" that you create within
secure boundaries which you maintain unobtrusively. (The right
balance of 'presence' and 'absence'?)
You are good at making sure that everything is under control
without controlling everything. (I hope that makes sense.) To
me this is generous, dynamic and amazingly creative. The place
is good. The grassy area was nice. The weather was excellent...
But all the little practical details that you and Steve take
so much care over are the key to creating a wonderfully relaxed
environment where people can really connect in the dance and
around it. (Yet without it being a 'hothouse'!!!) |
